Storytellers' Special Interest Group

The Storytellers' group is dedicated to writing family stories for sharing with family members and others. Preserve your family's history legacy by writing and sharing your story.

September‘s “official” topic is your First Day of School (or any other vivid memory of early school days), but feel free to bring anything else you’ve been working on if you’d rather.

The First Day of School is one filled with some combination of anticipation, excitement and/or trauma. Tell about your first day of school or some other vivid memory of your own early school days. Set the scene: give the who (you), what (first day of school or —), where (name the school and neighborhood or town), when (you needn’t give year, but that might be relevant) and why (this stands out in your memory). What memorable thing happened? Describe that memorable event and tell about the other people involved as well. How did the event make you feel? Why do you still hold that memory today? What did you learn anything about yourself or other people?

Please bring two copies of your writing for sharing. And please do consider submitting anything you’ve written for our CAGGNI newsletter.
