The southern tip of Illinois, at the confluence of the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers, was the first part of Illinois to see significant settlement, dating back before statehood in 1818. Descendants of these settlers have spread throughout Illinois and the nation. Learn the quirks of research in "Little Egypt".

He edited the Saga of Southern Illinois for the Genealogy Society of Southern Illinois from 2006-2012 and is currently a Director of the Illinois State Genealogy Society.
