2nd Saturday - Storyteller's Group - Sept 2014

This is a new group for those interested in the DOING of writing.  Do you need an assigned topic?  Do you need deadlines to help get you motivated?  This group is dedicated to writing family stories for sharing with family members to ensure they don’t get lost.

The September topic is a memorable Christmas or other holiday.  Set the scene:  Who was there?  When and where was the holiday celebrated?

Then tell what happened that made the day memorable.  Include, where appropriate, sensory images:  colors and shapes, sounds, odors, tastes (of holiday dishes), and perhaps touch details.

Be sure to tell why this day stands out in your memory.  It may be because of the event itself, or perhaps something that happened later gave it extra meaning.

Print up 3 copies of your narrative for sharing with others. Your audience will have the opportunity to make suggestions for improvement as well as to enjoy your story before you share it with your family.
