Colonial Special Interest Group - 14 Oct 2023

Interested in exploring your Colonial American roots? Then this is the special interest group for you!

Today's Topic: The Great Migration Study Project

The Great Migration Study Project is an ongoing scholarly endeavor to create short biographical sketches of all immigrants from Europe to colonial New England between 1620 and 1640. These number over 5,000 individuals, not including dependent wives and children, almost all of whom came from England, in a few cases after an interlude in the Netherlands. The project is conducted in collaboration with the New England Historic Genealogical Society (NEHGS) and has been underway since 1988. The PGM Project in NEHGS is directed by Robert Charles Anderson. There are several publications with useful and relevant genealogical information from the project that are available at many libraries in the area.

Today's Facilitator: Alan Wilson

SIG Lead: Mary Hoyer
